 MEET BRIAN KULPA

Brian Kulpa is the Owner of Brian Kulpa Photography LLC. Brian specializes in commercial cinematography and photography using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAS). Brian Kulpa Photography LLC has a Section 333/COA (one of the first Section 333 Recipients in Northern Nevada) & is Part 107 certified. Brian has been nominated/appointed by the FAA to be a FAASTeam Representative as an Unmanned Aerial Systems Drone Expert for Northern Nevada/California. Brian has been flying model aircraft, single rotor helicopters, and quad copters since 2000. After completing his homework, you would find Brian using the family computer to fly airplanes on flight simulators or tinkering with his model airplanes. These passions lead Brian to becoming a Part 61 Airman Certificate holder in addition to being a UAS Remote Pilot.

Brian grew up in the rolling hills of Western Massachusetts, where the natural beauty of the Appalachian Mountains surrounded him. The pristine beauty of the Berkshires inspired him to capture nature and all of its surroundings in its purest form, most importantly fall. Seeing the hills turn into a natural painted canvas full of rich, vibrant colors, inspired him in such a way that visual storytelling was what Brian wanted to do. Brian now calls Northern Nevada home. The natural beauty of the Sierra's and Lake Tahoe make up one astonishing backdrop. By merging his passions of photography and flying, he has taken his talents to new heights.

While using the UAS Platform, Brian has been able to beta test software for Drone Deploy, a 3D Mapping Company, Verifly, an on demand drone insurance company, LAANC software platforms prior to rollout and continuing enhancements most notably for  Airmap and Skyward. A few of the most notable missions he has flown are ones for NASA’s UTM Testing, NBC Sports, The Golf Channel, Mining Companies, and various building inspections for Northern Nevada Construction Companies including Washoe County School District. Brian  often volunteers his time to speak/demo UAS technology at various Drone Events in the Greater Reno/Sparks area in addition to showcasing his work at the Drone Zone at the Reno National Championship Air Races. Drone technology is changing everyday; it is going to be a vital tool for years to come.

When he is not flying drones, Brian is in the studio creating content, capturing images in a whole new perspective, filming features, and producing commercials with his various cameras and rigs. Visual storytelling is one of his strengths and post production is where it shows.
